I laminated 3 different sized paper items.

The first was a paper nametag (about 4 inches by 3 inches). It did OK and the bond was really good. However the plastic did warp a little so the tag is now a bit "wavy".

The next piece I did was a diploma. It is an undergraduate degree so it is 10 inches by 8 inches. This item also wound up a little bit wavy. However, the bond with the paper looks solid and the degree itself looks well protected. Of course there are no "do overs" here so if it comes out a little bit wavy you're stuck with that.

The final piece I did was another undergraduate degree, a bit larger 11 inches by 8.5. This laminated beautifully...really top notch, almost looks like a professional job, and it feels like it will last forever.

Overall I think you'd want to be careful with this unit because it does a fine job on some paper sized and not so good on others. It does form a nice tight seal so if your primary concern is... Read more

Fuzzy Wuzzy's Summary:
***** Highly recommended with warm fuzzies!

This is my first home-laminating experience, and I am thoroughly pleased with how easy and trouble-free this process is and how nice the results are. This H320 model has settings for using pouches of 3 mil, 4 mil, and 5 mil thickness, with either cold lamination or hot lamination. For the past few months, all of my experiences with this laminator have been with hot lamination using both GBC HeatSeal Laminating Pouches and also 4 packages of Scotch(TM) Thermal Laminating Pouches, 9 Inches x 11.4 Inches, 50 Pouches (TP3854-50). Both the GBC and Scotch pouches give equally good results, so you can use them interchangeably. This laminator lives up to its "QuickStart" name. From the moment that I plug it in and push the [Power] and [3 Mil] buttons,... Read more

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program ( What's this?)
As a former teacher, I have a lot of experience with laminating machines. I am very impressed with the GBC Heatseal QuickStart.

My first concern when using any technical type of equipment is ease of setup and use. In these areas, this product excels. It literally took me five minutes to go from opening the box to laminating my first item. It was as simple as choosing a pouch gauge, hitting the right button, waiting for the machine to warm up, and sending the document through. The written instructions are a page long and include laminating tips and helpful illustrations.

This laminator really lives up to its name in quickness. It not only warms up in record time (about 45 seconds), but also quickly melts and seals the plastic pouch. You can feed the documents through every twenty seconds or so. The unit itself is very sturdy and looks well put together. The results are professional, durable, and equal to the quality of the more high end machines I saw while in... Read more
