Between sale price and rebate, this unit ended up costing about one third the price of the Jupiter. As far as our usage, we run 50-100 covers at a time on an average of every 4-6 weeks or so. We use 110 card stock in 5 mil pouches and with the adjustable temperature, we find that the 8 - 8 1/2 temperature setting is just perfect for our jobs. We love the fact that this machine automatically shuts off after being idle for an hour. It also has a small tray on the exit chute that helps hold/guide the sheets as they exit the machine. Our only criticism is that the tray could be longer but considering that most machines don't have any tray at all, it's a minimal complaint. This machine does not require a carrier and also comes with the cleaning sheet. We are VERY happy with our GBC H212 so far! 11 of 11 people found the following review helpful: Perfect for toner transfer PCB fabrication, Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: GBC HeatSeal H212 9.5-Inch Jam Free Series Pouch Laminator (Office Product) I had a cheapo laminator I was using to make circuit boards, but the temperature control was wildly inaccurate and the motor barely had enough power to pull a board through the rollers. This one is far better - the heat setting is super-stable, and nothing ever gets stuck in the rollers. Set it to the highest heat, run your board through it until the temperature of the transfer paper hits ~105C, and everything should be perfectly transferred without smearing. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful: GBC HeatSeal H212, By yuckly (wilmington, nc United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: GBC HeatSeal H212 9.5-Inch Jam Free Series Pouch Laminator (Office Product) We have had this laminator for over a year in the school that I work. It did start out fine but then started to develop some jamming issues? We laminate primarily standard copy paper in very thin pouches. also they are not GBC pouches but Staples generic. I have a feeling that may be the issue? It SEEMS to me that the people using heavier mil laminating pouches have less issues?? I have started to start an empty pouch thru the machine, then pull it out using the reverse switch. Now the sheet is heavier and more stable on the end that is already laminated. I then load the pouch with things I want to laminate and start it through again. much fewer jams this way Anyway, for the price, it seems to be too sensitive? Don't believe the Jam Free Hype. |
